Join a dynamic and experiential way to explore and learn about the latest in innovation, finding inspiration and gaining practical knowledge that can be applied in various professional contexts.
At Innovation Lab, we design and host Innovation Safaris in different parts of the world that we find most inspiring – like Copenhagen, Berlin, Amsterdam, Tallinn or Tel Aviv. A typical Safari has a duration of 2-5 days and can also be embedded into a larger project, e.g. a Product Discovery or an Organizational Transformation.
We wanted to gather impulses and came back with a changed mindset. A 3-day trip to Copenhagen has come to an end, which was so full of inspiration and methods that we came back home euphoric.
Leader Innovation Hub
What do you get out of an Innovation Safari?
- Solving Real Business Challenges. Several of our clients brought a real business challenge to their Innovation Safari – we helped them tackle that challenge through strategic matchmaking and co-creation workshops.
- Finding and Developing New Business Ideas. We guided several teams in identifying and developing viable business ideas to the Lean Canvas stage. Afterwards we supported them in validating their ideas through targeted, real-word application and customer feedback.
- Group dynamics and Leadership Reinforcement. We had several clients that came together with their customers (a bank and an agency) to strengthen their relationships, enhance collaboration, trust and loyalty. Another team had just got a new leadership team. Our Innovation Safari helped them reinforce group dynamics and work on concrete strategic initiatives.
- Catalyst for Organizational Change. A group of business leaders facing challenges in establishing a culture of innovation, our Innovation Safari acted as a catalyst for transformation.
What an incredible week full of inspiration and learning! But we weren’t just there to listen and exchange ideas, we worked on specific issues. And so the first day ended with the work on our innovation cases – inspired by many great lectures.

How can an Innovation Safari boost innovation?
- Analysis paralysis:
- Challenge: Leaders often face the issue of having an abundance of ideas but struggle with taking decisive action. A lot of discussion leads to a lockout situation.
- Solution: An Innovation Safari facilitates a clearer understanding of how ideas can be implemented, what works in practice, and what doesn’t.
- Furthermore, witnessing succesful implementation of ideas in different contexts can inspire leader to take action, moving beyond the theoretical phase.
- The proximity bias aka “Being trapped in echo chambers”:
- Challenge: Leaders often get trapped in echo chambers, where they are only exposed to familiar ideas and perspectives.
- Solution: By engaging in environments and contexts different from their own, leaders can gain fresh insights and ideas, breaking free from conventional thinking patterns.
- Real life immersion awakened you to shifts and changes like no presentation or report can ever do.
- Breaking out of our familiar circles:
- Challenge: Expanding networks beyond circles can be challenging but is essential for innovation.
- Solution: Such safaris often involve interacting with diverse groups of people, offering opportunities for networking and potential collaboration.
- Safaris really get you into the wild and has you meeting people you’d never have known to meet otherwise.
- A disconnect between theoretical knowledge and its practical application:
- Seeing real-world applications of new technologies and methods can help leaders understand how to practically implement theoretical concepts.
- Talk to people who have already done it!
- Too many ideas but no action:
- Direct exposure to cutting-edge technologies and new trends and signals of change as well as their applications can provide leaders with a better understanding of emerging trends and how they can be leveraged.
